Watertown, SD

Macksteel Warehouse had its beginning in 1973 when founders Steve and Beverly Mack began a portable bailing business, traveling the region processing scrap metals. A few years later the current property was purchased, and Mack Wrecking, Inc. was formed as a scrap iron and metal recycler. During the 80s, the retailing of new and surplus steel was added. During this time the scrap recycling and retail steel businesses both experienced steady growth. In 1998, the scrap division was sold, and the company changed its name to Macksteel Warehouse, Inc. The sale allowed management to focus on the metal service center side of the business, and fabrication equipment was added, allowing Macksteel to produce finished products. Today, we operate nearly 145,000 sq ft with the latest metal fabrication technology. Our unique integration of metal distribution, fabrication, and manufacturing has allowed Macksteel to continue to grow.
